Provisional Tax
The second instalment of Provisional Tax is due on 15th January 2012 and we will be sending out notices this week.
If you feel your profit is up or down significantly from last year, we can review your financial performance from 1/4/11 to 30/11/11 and estimate your tax due.
Please advise our office as soon as possible if you would like us to do this.
If the correct provisional tax is not paid, the tax payer can be liable to IRD for penalties and interest at 8.9%. The standard calculation method may not be appropriate to your business, so a careful calculation is often important to ensure the required level of tax is paid.
If you can not pay the provisional tax, we have other options available that can greatly reduce interest and penalty costs. If you can not pay the provisional tax on time please let Ross or Karen know so that we can help.
Banklink

Ross’ New Year Resolution
We have always wanted to respond to you quickly and give you the best possible service.
Ross is now taking on a challenge for the New Year (from 9th January 2012) to guarantee that he will respond to any email, fax or phone call within 1 working day (24 hours normally).
If the question is complicated Ross may not be able to answer it immediately but you will at least get an email back, letting you know that we have received the email and an expected completion date.
If the matter is urgent, you can let Ross or Rachel (Ross’ PA) know and we can generally accommodate this

Staff Update
Kim recently got married to Mike Bruce, she is now known as Kim Bruce and the wedding day was beautiful.
Caroline Steed joined the team this year in May as our front desk receptionist.
Chrissie Courtman joined the team this year in April as Accounts Receivable.
The Coombe Smith Team have this year entered several Run/Walks including Xterra Blue Lakes, Xterra Waihi, Round the Bridges in Hamilton and are preparing for another challenge in January for the FIX Tussock Traverse, Central Plateau! Keep an eye out for our team at upcoming events.
